RAID Virtual Device Windows Driver
A RAID Virtual Device is a virtualized storage device that represents a RAID array configured on a hardware or software RAID controller. RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a technology used to combine multiple physical hard drives into a single logical unit for the purpose of redundancy, performance, or both. The RAID Virtual Device driver allows the operating system (Windows) to interact with and utilize the virtualized storage array as a single device.
This driver is typically associated with hardware RAID controllers or software RAID solutions, such as those from Intel, LSI, Adaptec, or Dell, and it is necessary for Windows to recognize and communicate with the virtualized RAID array. Without the correct driver, Windows will not be able to use the RAID array properly, and it may not show up in Disk Management or be usable for file storage.
