What is the PCI-SERIAL Windows Driver?
The PCI-SERIAL driver is typically associated with a PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) serial port device. This device allows a computer to communicate with serial devices, such as modems, printers, or other peripherals that use a serial connection (RS-232 or similar protocols).
In modern systems, many computers no longer come with traditional COM (serial) ports, so the PCI-SERIAL card is used to add serial port functionality to a computer via the PCI or PCIe (PCI Express) bus.
