What is iLO 5 (ASR) Windows Driver?
iLO 5 (Integrated Lights-Out 5) is a management tool developed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for remotely managing and monitoring HPE servers. It is a hardware-based, out-of-band management solution that allows administrators to access, control, and monitor the server remotely, even if the server's main operating system is down or the server is powered off. iLO provides functionalities like remote power control, system health monitoring, and remote console access.
ASR (Automatic Server Recovery) is a feature of iLO 5 that helps ensure that a server that has experienced a hardware failure or operating system crash can automatically reboot or alert administrators for further action.
The iLO 5 ASR Windows driver is used to integrate the iLO functionality into the operating system, enabling the system to handle ASR events (such as an automatic reboot or system recovery) and manage iLO settings within Windows.
