What is the GNSS Virtual COM Port Windows Driver?

The GNSS Virtual COM Port driver is typically used to enable communication between a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver and a Windows computer via a virtual COM (serial) port. GNSS receivers are used to capture signals from satellites for positioning, navigation, and timing data (such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, etc.).

Many GNSS receivers (especially USB-based models) present themselves as virtual serial ports (COM ports) to the computer, allowing software to communicate with them as if they were connected through traditional RS-232 serial interfaces. The GNSS Virtual COM Port driver provides this virtual interface, allowing software on your Windows PC to send commands and receive positioning data from the GNSS device.
