What is eLicenser Windows Driver?

The eLicenser is a software and hardware licensing system used primarily by various software applications, particularly in the fields of music production, audio engineering, and other creative industries. It is developed by Steinberg Media Technologies and Syncrosoft (a part of Steinberg) for managing licenses and copy protection for their software.

An eLicenser Windows driver allows your computer to communicate with the eLicenser USB dongle (or virtual eLicenser) used to store and manage licenses for software such as Steinberg Cubase, Wavelab, HALion, and many other music production and audio applications. The eLicenser system ensures that the software is properly licensed and protected against unauthorized use.

The eLicenser Windows driver includes:

• The eLicenser Control Center (eLCC): A management tool for activating, deactivating, and maintaining licenses for the software that uses the eLicenser system.
