- Once you've downloaded the driver, you can follow these steps to install it:
- Locate the downloaded driver file (usually an executable
.exe
or a .zip
file).
- If it's a
.zip
file, extract it first.
- Double-click the
.exe
file to launch the installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
- Once installation is complete, you may be prompted to restart your computer.
4. Set Up Fingerprint Authentication
After the driver is installed, you can set up the fingerprint sensor:
- Open Settings in Windows (press
Win + I
).
- Go to Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Under Windows Hello Fingerprint, click on Set up.
- Follow the prompts to register your fingerprint.
5. Test the Fingerprint Sensor
- After setup, you can test the fingerprint sensor by locking your computer (
Win + L
) and then attempting to log in using your fingerprint.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the sensor is not recognized or not working after installation, try the following:
- Check if the device is enabled in Device Manager.
- Make sure the driver is up to dateDevice Manager and select Update Driver.
- Restart your system after installation.
- If the driver installation fails, uninstall any previous drivers and reinstall the new one.
Uninstalling or Updating the Driver
If you need to update or uninstall the Validity Fingerprint driver:
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click on the Fingerprint Sensor (under Biometric Devices or Imaging Devices).
- Select Update Driver to search for newer versions.
- To uninstall, right-click the device and select Uninstall device.
After uninstalling, you can reinstall the driver by following the steps above.
