The Canon MP280 Series Printer is an all-in-one inkjet printer designed for both printing and scanning tasks. The Windows driver for this printer is the software that enables your computer to communicate with the printer, allowing you to use the printer's functions (print, scan, etc.) from your Windows machine.
Steps to Install the Canon MP280 Series Printer Driver on Windows:
1. Download the Driver:
- Go to the official Canon support website:
- In the search bar, type Canon MP280 and select your printer from the list.
- Select your Windows version (e.g., Windows 10, 11) from the drop-down list.
- Download the MP280 series Full Driver & Software Package for your system.
- Ensure you're downloading the correct driver version based on your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).
2. Run the Installer:
- Once the driver has been downloaded, go to your Downloads folder (or wherever the file is saved).
- Double-click the downloaded file (usually a
.exe
or .dmg
for Windows) to begin the installation process.
- If prompted by Windows, click Yes to allow the installer to make changes to your device.
3. Follow the Installation Instructions:
- The Canon installation wizard will guide you through the setup. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- License Agreement: Accept the license agreement to continue.
- Connection Method: Choose how you want to connect the printer to your computer:
- USB Connection: If you are connecting via a USB cable, plug in the USB cable from your Canon MP280 printer to your computer when prompted. The installer will automatically detect the printer.
- Wireless Connection: If the printer supports Wi-Fi and you are setting it up for wireless printing, follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
4. Complete the Installation:

- Once installation is complete, click Next and then Finish to exit the installer.
5. Test the Printer:
- After installation, you should test the printer to ensure it is functioning correctly.

- Right-click on the printer and select Printer Properties.
- From the printer properties window, select Print Test Page to verify that the printer is working properly.
6. Set the Printer as Default (Optional):
- If you plan to use the Canon MP280 as your default printer, you can set it as the default by right-clicking on the printer icon in Devices and Printers and selecting Set as default printer.
